The official Feed press release:
In a world of rock n' roll where the term alternative seems
to have lost its essence between post-punk posers and blues-
based harmony slingers, hearing the sounds of a truly
alternative rock n' roll band filter through the sonic mush
is a fulfilling experience. FEED is just that. Tightly
emotional lyrics are wound around catchy but hard-edged pop
melodies. Layers of brash guitar evoke classic rock n' roll
with a jagged vision reflective of the times. Vocals strain
to the point of breaking but return to a commanding
lushness.
FEED was conceived 18 months ago as the brainchild of
Psychedelic Furs' co-founder Tim Butler and percussionist
Don Yallech. The two had performed together on the Furs'
'World Outside' album and subsequent tour, and collaborated
with Richard Butler on his recent 'Love Spit Love' project.
With the addition of Chris Robertson on vocals and Keith
Otten on lead guitar, FEED has evolved into a creative
ensemble shaped by the equal writing and composing efforts
of all four band members.
The band has been playing regularly on a local level at such
established clubs as Brownies; CBGB, where it opened for
David Byrne at the 20th Anniversary Celebration Concert;
Irving Plaza; Mercury Lounge; Tramps; and Wetlands. It has
recorded a studio demo tape and is also producing a live
studio session tape.
FEED is;
Tim Butler - Bass.
Don Yallech - Drums and backing vocals.
Chris Robertson - Lead vocals and rhythm guitar.
Keith Otten: - Lead guitar and backing vocals
